Iskar River is the longest river that runs solely in Bulgaria and stands at about 60 km away from the capital Sofia. The river offers excellent conditions for wild water rafting.
General Info
- Place: The Iskar River in the region of Iskar gorge, just outside the town of Lakatnik;
- Season: from April till July and from October till November – high water level. August and September – low water level
- Requirements: swimming skills
- Length of the descend: depends on the water level (approx. 10 km)
- Grade: from 2 to 4+, according to six-point International scale grading.
- Boat: professional 6 and 8-seater rafting boats.
PROGRAM
Program sequence:
- Instructions and information about oncoming rafting;
- Each participant shall sign a declaration form for a voluntary participation;
- Rafting descend.

Note: In case of overnight in a tent camp we will provide you with tents, coverlet, and sleeping bag. Discounted rates are available for groups.
Safe equipment provided:
- Helmet, neoprene, life jacket, water boots, oar, raft-boat, experienced guides;
Personal equipment:
- Sporting outfit, sunglasses, suntan cream, clothes and shoes for change, towel.
Accommodation:
- a private hotel or a tent camping. We will provide you with a tent, sleeping bag, duvet and food.
Transport:
- Organized transport by minibus or car – upon request
